Trips
We very proud of the wide range of trips offered at WSE each year. We want our students to develop independence, find their passions and talents and develop an understanding of and respect for the world beyond their community.
In line with this vision we offer a wide variety of day and residential trips both in the UK and abroad throughout the year, culminating in our fantastic Activities Week in July.
We carefully plan an extensive and varied programme of trips (over 100 trips on average in recent years, UK and foreign, day and residential). Curriculum trips run throughout the year developing students' learning and understanding beyond the classroom. In addition, we offer including language immersion trips to Spain and France, as well as the annual residential trips to the Somme Battlefields, PE trip to Barcelona and the chance to go on the yearly ski trip. We have a link with a school in Zanzibar and bi-anually students fund raise to go on this trip and spend time volunteering in a school there. Thanks to our dedicated staff, new opportunities arise on regular basis for example, in the near future our first residential trip led by the Geography department will leave for a week in The Azores.
With out a doubt, our Activities Week is the highlight of our trips calendar with a wide range of excursions, trips and visits. Students are spoilt for choice!
