Head of Department - Geography

We are looking for a qualified and experienced teacher to join Wyvern St Edmund’s Academy as Head of Department for Geography.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching excellence and a passion for Geography. Experience of leading and delivering on an additional responsibility would be an advantage.

This position is:

  • Permanent;
  • 1.0 FTE;
  • Competitive Salary plus a TLR 2B (annual amount of £5,900) for additional responsibility of Head of Department.  Recruitment/Retention allowances available for an outstanding candidate;

Teacher and Deputy Head of Department for Modern Foreign Languages

We have an opportunity for an outstanding Teacher to join the Modern Foreign Languages department from the 1st September 2025.  Alongside this we also have the additional responsibility of Deputy Head of Department available with this role.

At Wyvern St Edmund's we offer our students French, German and Spanish. We are therefore seeking a candidate who is proficient in a combination of these languages. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can teach two (or more) of the three languages we offer to KS4.

MFL is a growing department and we now have an opportunity for an additional member of staff to join our team.

This position is:

Administration Officer - Attendance/Admissions

We require an Administration Officer to support our procedures for, predominantly, Attendance but also Admissions. This is an exciting new role due to changes in attendance procedures but also our growing school.

We are looking for an organised individual, with excellent attention to detail. The successful candidate will need to have the ability to work to a deadline.

This role will prioritise the support work needed for children that are Pupil Premium Disadvantaged, helping remove barriers to ensure they attend school.

We have a team of staff who work collaboratively to help improve students attendance. Our Attendance Manager coordinates the priorities for the team, and will therefore also direct the duties and tasks for this support role. We also work with the Local Authority for more serious attendance concerns.

This role supports the administration of tracking and supporting students attendance.

At key times in the year part of this role will be to also provide admin support to our Admissions and Data processes in order to help the collection of data of new students joining the school and the issuing of student reports.

This position is:

  • Permanent;
  • Up to 35 hours per week;
  • Term Time only (39 weeks per year);
  • Required for: As soon as available;
  • Salary: MLP Grade D, FTE salary £24,597.  Pro-rata salary of £20,013 (based on 35 hours per week);

Administration Officer

We require an organised and welcoming individual to join our Admin Team at Wyvern St Edmund’s. We are particularly looking for someone who has excellent IT skills and is passionate about working in a school environment.

As part of our busy Admin Team the role provides the opportunity to contribute to and support a variety of tasks and school activities.

This position is:

  • Permanent;
  • 21 hours per week, Weds - Fri, 8am - 3:30pm (with a 30 minute unpaid break);
  • Term Time only;
  • Start date: as available;
  • Salary MLP Grade E, FTE £24,597.  Pro-rata salary of £12,008;
