Head of Department - Geography

We are looking for a qualified and experienced teacher to join Wyvern St Edmund’s Academy as Head of Department for Geography.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching excellence. Experience of leading and delivering on an additional responsibility would be an advantage.

This position is:

  • Permanent;
  • 1.0 FTE;
  • Competitive Salary plus a TLR 2B (annual amount of £5,592) for additional responsibility of Head of Department.  Recruitment/Retention allowances available for an outstanding candidate;
  • Required for: 1st September 2024.

Teacher or Head of Department for PSHE

We have an opportunity for an outstanding Teacher to join the PSHE department from the 1st September 2024.  There is also the opportunity for the right candidate to take on the additional responsibilities of Head of Department.

Administration Officer - Student Receptionist. 3 days per week.

We have an opportunity for an organised and welcoming individual to join our Admin Team at Wyvern St Edmund’s as a Student Receptionist.

We are particularly looking for someone who is passionate about working in a school environment supporting our students and has good IT skills.

This position will be based in our busy Student Reception. Excellent communication skills and an ability to prioritise enquiries during the busy periods of the day are required.

Being first aid trained, or be willing to receive first aid training would be desirable. Experience of using SIMS (or other Management Information Systems) would be an advantage.

You will join an enthusiastic and very supportive team right at the heart of our flourishing school.

Candidates for this position could also be considered alongside the 2 day a week Administration Officer (Cover Co-ordinator) vacancy that has been advertised separately. Therefore, applications from candidates seeking 5 days a week also welcome.

Direct Supply Teachers

Wyvern St Edmund's (WSE) have opportunities for qualified Teachers to join our bank of Supply.

Successful candidates would be employed directly by WSE, but on a Casual basis.  All hours worked would be agreed with you in advance.  This could be for a pre-planned requirement discussed well in advance, or occasionally for short notice cover – dependent on your availability, of course.

This provides the opportunity to be part of school life, supporting our students and part of the WSE family, but to choose when you work.
